We went out of Long Beach or San Pedro? My aunt had kept in touch with her aunt and one of her neighbors boys invited her and her family for the cruise. We spent most of the day at sea and I had a better time than Disney Land or any other entertainment place had ever given me. Taking the plane elevator down was wild and the size of the lower decks totally amazed us. We had lunch and saw engine room etc. Upon arriving back on the upper deck I was struck by the speed that the ship could make. We were treated to planes taking off and landing, planes dropping depth charges and much more that I can no longer remember. I have never been so amazed by size, noise and power as I was on that day and I will remember the ship and its crew for giving me one of the most exciting experiences of my life.
